Do you have any questions about visits for groups of adults or school groups?
School groups:
The Waterloo Memorial 1815 puts every effort into welcoming schools and groups of young people. We aim to help teachers and accompanying adults prepare their visit.
As well as open visits, we offer guided tours supported by the 1815 guides or demonstrations of firing cannons and guns etc.
Our media teams will soon be offering educational activities with a variety of approaches that will henceforth permit a varied schools programme aimed at all stages of education.
By offering guided visits in period costume (allowing children to understand civilian or military life at the beginning of the 19th century) and interdisciplinary workshops, our teams are working actively to develop activities for schools. We will soon be making educational packs available to accompanying adults and teachers.

These workshops include activities for children of all ages from 3 to 18 years old.
Schools Discovering the Battle of Waterloo 1815
First of all, we offer you immersive visits, supervised by our educational team, or practical demonstrations of cannon shooting, rifle…
Our pedagogical teams also propose activities adapted to the age group or the pedagogical expectations of the teachers. In fact, they have been developed around a wide variety of approaches and therefore allow for a varied school programme aimed at all teaching cycles.
This is how our teams have developed a wide range of school activities, from guided tours in period costume (allowing children to understand civilian or military life at the beginning of the 19th century) to interdisciplinary workshops.
A complete pedagogical file is available for accompanying adults and teachers on request school@waterloo1815.be.
We also provide them with a leaflet presenting our school offer. Our formulas are adapted for all school outings in class or in small groups, and for day activities such as end-of-year outings.
A sheltered picnic (or snack) area is available.
For all reservations or for more information on the visit formulas for school groups, please contact us.
