How do you bring history to life and capture the interest of a young audience? How do you explain
the stakes of a battle such as Waterloo to children and introduce them to the character of Napoleon?
Are you looking for an entertaining but educational idea? Welcome to the Waterloo School!

Programme :
9.30 am: The children are welcomed to the site by French soldiers of the Empire: a grenadier corporal, a leading seaman of the guard, a drummer of the line, a colonel of the guard...
10 am: Presentation of the soldier’s uniforms and weapons.
11 am: Explore the Battlefi eld in the Battlefi eld Tour. During this tour in an off-road truck, the soldiers recount the major stages of the battle. A stop-off at the Hougoumont Farm, a place steeped in history, is an opportunity for the children to learn more about this fortified farm.
12.30: Lunch
1.30 pm: Visit to the site museums. The children follow in the footsteps of Napoleon, Wellington and
Blücher in visiting the Panorama, the Wax Museum and will then watch two history fi lms.
3 pm: Visit to the “Military School”. The children learn how to march in step, the techniques of shooting, the clothing, the army rules, etc. Older children can practise holding the weapons.
4 pm: “Theatrical” presentation. Soldiers returning from the battle tell their stories and share their memories with the children.
4.30 pm: Correction of questionnaires and awarding of certificates.

2 educational levels: 9-12 years and 13-16 years.

Duration: 1h, 2h or 3h. Maximum 25 people. 
This price is in addition to the entry ticket.
